BIO

Photographer and Journalist, born in Paris, based in Italy, Jean-Marc Caimi has been many years a music journalist. He directed the magazine "Rockstar" interviewing and photographing people like Bo Diddley, Peter Gabriel, Roger Waters and Michael Nyman. Most recently he turned reportage photojournalist working as a freelance for many magazines such as "Il Manifesto", "Repubblica XL", green party's "Terra" and for Redux Pictures of New York. Among his works, the humanitarian disaster of Somali refugees of Yemen, the consequences of global warming in India and the traffic of Western electronic waste in Ghana. He participated to the International festival of photography in Rome in 2007 with a reportage of daily life in train stations and was awarded with the jury first prize in the Biennal of Videophotography of Alessandria for that project. With his reportage about new social housing in Rome's suburbs was shortlisted for the ten best architecture projects in the World Photography Awards 2009 in Cannes.
